Measure J Bond

The Hope Elementary School District Planning and Construction Management oversees new construction and modernization of all district facilities. The department is responsible for the district’s short and long-term facility needs, including enrollment and staffing projections to identify facility needs.

Through careful planning and support from the community, Hope Elementary School District has prepared well to accommodate the current needs of our students, staff, and community.  In March 2020, the Hope School District community voters passed Measure J. This $47.4 million bond will provide funding for the modernization of our facilities, including new construction at Hope Elementary School, Monte Vista Elementary School, and Vieja Valley Elementary School.

The first series of $12 million was sold in May 2020, received in June 2020, and deposited in Fund 22 (Bonds). The district must spend 85% of those proceeds within three years. Staff predicts all $47.4 million proceeds will be spent by 2025. Closing out the bond program requirements by June 2026.

Hope Highlights 12.3.23

Wow!  WORKING TOGETHER we raised $52,860. Way to go Waves. Thank you again to our Jog-a-thon Committee and to all the staff, students, and families. We also had a lot of fun! All award winners will be announced in our March Assembly.

Attendance Matters

Regular school attendance from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade is vital for the comprehensive development of students. Beyond acquiring essential academic skills, consistent attendance cultivates responsibility, discipline, and positive work habits, laying a robust foundation for future success
Chronic absenteeism, defined as missing 10% or more of the school year, poses significant challenges. It not only hampers individual academic progress and social development but also affects the entire class. **PLANNING YOUR TIPS AROUND OUR SCHOOL BREAKS SUPPORTS ALL OUR STUDENTS. **The disruptions caused by frequent absences can impede the flow of instruction, creating gaps in understanding for both the absent student and their peers. Teachers must redirect valuable class time to catch up the absentee, slowing down the pace of learning and impacting collaborative activities.

When we make sure students are in school (unless they have a fever or other significant illness) we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive academically and contribute meaningfully to their classroom community.

Parent Teacher Conferences

I would like to remind you that parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner. Scheduled for the week of March 4, these conferences provide a valuable opportunity for open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers. We believe that working together is essential to supporting the academic and personal growth of our students
To accommodate the conferences, we will have a 1:00 PM dismissal for students in grades 1-6 during the conference week. Additionally, TK students will be dismissed at 12:45 PM. Please make the necessary arrangements to ensure your child's timely pickup during this week
If you haven't already scheduled your parent-teacher conference, please reach out to your child's teacher as soon as possible to secure a convenient time slot. We look forward to discussing your child's progress, celebrating their achievements, and addressing any concerns or questions you may have.

Hope Playground- After Hours

It has been lovely seeing all the families and students enjoying the new playground on the weekends and after school hours. I would like to make sure everyone is aware that we have a Hope School After School Program (ELOP) on campus until 5:00 pm. **Due to that, children who are unaccompanied by an adult are to not play on campus until after 5:00 pm on the Weekdays. **You can always enroll your child into ELOP if you would like them on campus between 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
